Shimaa's is an Outstanding locally owned, authentic Sushi restaurant. The very best in the Chicago suburbs.

Shima’s is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the US, a true hidden gem for the Chicagoland area. The sushi is top notch quality, and the hot menu items are always fresh and delicious.

This place is the best. The owners could not be friendlier, and the sushi rolls hit the spot every time. Tonight they went above and beyond, giving us free samples of a shrimp appetizer, plus Japanese KitKats and candy on our way out. Thank you!!!

I love this place, might be my favorite sushi place. The owners/staff are wonderful. The sushi is awesome. The place is quant. Great place for that comforting sushi craving or a couple rolls with the family.

Fresh, tasty sushi offerings in a clean friendly atmosphere. Barriers between tables because of COVID. Service slow due to staffing shortages but upon entering, they informed us of the situation - we gladly waited and enjoyed our meal!

We moved aware from this area so hadn't been here in a few years. My husband wanted good sushi and suggested we go back to our old favorite. After more than 5 years away, they have only improved. The food is top notch with a huge selection of not just sushi, but udon noodles, teriyaki, and more. Love the Christine Tower and the white tuna sushi. The owners are so friendly and welcomed us back and even gave us a goody bag for our granddaughter. The atmosphere is quiet and calm, which we love. We will be making the drive back a frequent occurrence.

The variety of the menu is astounding. The freshness of the fish is great;the salmon melts in your mouth. The gyoza is okay, it was a little more crunchy than I cared for. The takoyaki is delicious. The food is made quickly and is super hot. We got a free dessert with a strawberry topping with a brownie. The richness of the brownie was very good and balanced out the tartness of the strawberry. The reason for the 4 out of 5 stars was the service. The service was slower and not at the bar one would expect for a sushi place. The one server was very new, and tonight was swamped so I can't blame them, but there were times we were just sitting for 10 to 20 minutes trying to get the servers attention. I'm sure it'll get better over time; we plan on coming back out in 6 months time to see how it goes. The tea is delicious! The staff is super friendly and the ambiance is lovely- casual and eclectic yet very driven towards one theme.
